Now, I maybe something of a stalker type fan of Forthelongestday <shifty eyes> I've read all of her work and loved every single part of it. And she really does not disappoint with her latest offering. B&B starts off in the middle of the James debacle, with a little twist and all from Jasper's point of view.
If you like your Jasper more vampire than humane, raw and rough and ready and very real...then this si definitely the story that you should be running out to read. She weaves you into his psyche seamlessly, letting you delve into his secrets and complications. You can't help but make sure to read each and every syllable, not wanting to miss any of his musings, his opinions on the other members of the family. And she writes his....obssession with Bella brilliantly. So brilliantly, that he doesn't even seem to realise that 'obssession' if the best and most apt way to describe the path that his thoughts take.
But it isn't just her Jasper that leaves me begging for more of this, all of her characters are so alive on the page, even if they only take a peripheral standing in the chapters. The way that she tackles Jasper and Alice's 'relationship' is very well done, it doesn't leave you with any doubts and certainly doesn't make the reader have to take a leap of faith in terms of believing it.
Her Bella is fantastic, and so real. Questioning and trying to find her own way through this new world that she's been pulled into, and questioning the one who pulled her into it in the first place. This is a journey, and one that everyone should be on. Forthelongestday's writing is pure pleasure to read, and should be enjoyed by anyone that has a penchant for the Bella/Jasper paring, as well as anyone wanting to dip their toe into new paring territory.
Basically, EVERYONE should be reading this piece of genius.
I have to say that I just found this story yesterday and it is pure genius. It's at the top of my read list, and it should be at the top of everyone's read list as well. It is an awesome read.
