This is an intriguing little tale that is currently six chapters in. Each chapter alternates from BPOV to JPOV, and they both tell the story of how their relationship has ended up so far gone. We have yet to actually see them together, but judging from the last few lines in the last posted chapter, I am assuming that we are headed in that direction.

In this fic, our Jasper is very dark, and his thoughts for Bella are somewhat twisted. He seems bent on breaking Bella, and gains pleasure from hurting her emotionally. Bella is dependent upon Jasper, and really isn’t in a good place. She is still getting over Edward leaving her at this point, and that could be the reason Jasper is having such a hard time letting Bella in. This is not a healthy relationship, but the story is after all dark, so if you’re looking for a hearts and flowers romance, this isn’t it.

I’m extremely curious to see where the author takes this fic. This Jasper is mysterious and his thoughts are disturbing, a perfectly delicious combination for Darksper. Although the story is only a few chapters in, I think it’s a strong start. If you’re into jaded, dark vampires, give this one a try.
