Izzy Rec's: Domestic Terror by @lacym3

Hi all!

I know you were expecting the lovely EdwardsChipper today, but she had a deep, dark secret that is keeping her from posting today. I'm actually thinking an intervention is needed since our sexy, demented temptress has apparently went to the... fluffy side. You heard me. She's went and done the unthinkable. 

Oh the horror! If you haven't figured it out yet, here are some more clues...

The crazy thing went the happiest place on earth.... Disney World. 

I don't know whether to puke or choke her, but we still love her anyway.

(ahem) Now, on to why we're really here. 

I haven't had a lot of time to read lately, but I was able to rush over and read a new OS by the lovely, talented, and completely twisted lacym3 on TwiWrite the other night, so I wanted to share it with you all. This can actually be classified as a Darksper as well, but I thought Bella was especially evil in this deliciously deviant One Shot, so we're gonna roll with that, Mkay? 

She didn't have a banner, so I fucked around with Photoshop (I haz an obsession) and threw this together for her. (hope you like it dear, but you don't have to use it)

Summary: Jasper loves his wife, Bella, more than anything. He'd give her anything just to see that joyous look upon her face. Anything. Rated extreme M for splatterpunk, lemon, blood play, and sugary sweet love. 

OK, WOW! I saw her tweeting about this story and wanted to ask what she was writing, but I was somehow sucked into a conversations about Edward Ninja's and testicles catching on fire by lightening (For the love of all that's nonsensical, don't ask). So, I waited this out and was happy I did. 

This fic is so... wrong on so many levels. I won't say much since it's a One Shot, but I will say, it was sweet, sickening, completely fucked up, and rather comical all in one. It's a pure win situation for all you dark (and heaven forbid fluffy) lover's out there. 

Jasper and Bella are happily married, completely in love, and outstanding citizens in their community. They share a love for cutlery and relaxing music (or screams) while they dine with their friends over for roast and wine. Jasper adores Bella, and will do anything to make her happy... anything! That includes bringing home presents of the very vocal and fleshy kind. 

Their quiet night at home is soon filled with the music of sliced skin and pleading girls... just the way they like it.

This fic is not for the faint of heart (which most of the ones found here aren't) so tread carefully. If you can stomach the "splatterpunk", then you should definitely give this one a go. It's brilliant in every dark and delightful way, very well written and leaves you with a warm and fuzzy feeling of true love... or rather warm and dripping blood?

Run to read and give lacy some love. It's absolutely fabulous, and you won't be sorry you did.

Hola! It seems like it's been forever since I posted, and trust me, I had a very hard time trying to find a story. I've read some really, really good dark fics lately, and I struggled with doing a few multi-chaps, but decided that I wanted to feature a Dark Fem Rec this week. We don't find a lot of these, and so when a good one comes along, I have to jump on it.

Summary: Victoria comes back to Forks after several years for revenge, only to find that Edward has left and Bella has sworn off men forever. Neither woman is pleased to see the other, but by the time it's over, at least one of them will be pleased.    

Pairing: Victoria/Bella

Wow, I mean, just wow. I have been on a Victoria character exploration as of late. I'm really enjoying how creative some are when exploring her in FanFiction nowadays, and I was not disappointed with this story either. 

I'm not going to say too much since it's a OS, but I will say that those of you who love femslash (like I do) will not be disappointed with this one. 

Bella's character is fabulous. Long gone is the awkward girl that Edward left behind five years ago. We have a snarky, seemingly pissed off woman left in her wake. So when Victoria finally shows up to exact her revenge after Bella comes home from college, she's met with an attitude. 

Victoria has waited for her chance to torture and kill Bella, but when she discovers that Edward left her long ago and didn't want her anymore, she takes her frustrations out on a bitchy and vibrant Bella with a passion. And daaayyyummm, do I mean passion. 

A little shock factor and a whole lot of hotness ensue, with a fabulous ending. This is just a OS and is, obviously, complete, but I'd love to see what happens next. It's one of those OS's that leave you wanting more, and in a good way. 

So, go check it out over on TwiWrite. It's wonderfully written,and all kinds of hot. You won't be disappointed.

Breathing Hope by The Joker's Daughter

Summary: Carlisle and Bella have been separated for 5 years, with painful consequences. Now, they are reunited, but are they too broken and without hope. Inspired by 'Breathing Hope' a Carlisle Cullen tribute by Natalie Nicole Gilbert.

This is my first posting for Darkest Temptations. I know I don’t have the finesse of my fellow Temptations, so I humbly offer this first recommendation. Breathing Hope by The Joker’s Daughter.

First, let me initially say that this author has several other stories that I find fascinating. The first being Feral Blood, which is a story about Carlisle and Bella. In short, the premise of the story is that Bella realizes on that fateful day of her birthday that in fact, her feelings are not for Edward, but the leader of the Cullen coven. What follows is an admission from our favorite doctor vampire that Bella is his mate, but that he has allowed the romance with Edward because he thought it was what made her happy. The story quickly progresses from there and becomes very…um…sensual.

It is a WIP, but won the Best AU and Best Non-canon pairing over on the vampies. The author has another WIP called Demonic Desires which is only a couple of chapters in. It also shows a good deal of possibility. In that story, Carlisle is a futai stringoi, a sexual demon that preys on the blood and energy of humans. He meets little Bella in Forks.

Do you notice the recurring theme?

The Joker’s Daughter loves the Carlisle/Bella pairing, which seems to be popular in so many fics right now. Now for those that know me, I am an Edward/Bella diehard, so for me to read something other than those two together is a miracle to no end. Sure…sure, as a famous wolf would say, I can accept them being with others while they find their way, but in the end it is what is supposed to be.

I know! Let me live in my own little world.

Back to the purpose of this post.

The Joker’s Daughter writes very nice Carlisle/Bella pairings. But let me digress, when I say nice, I mean the pairings are written with depth and feeling. Her stories are not fairy tales. Each of them have a different flavor, but she helps you to see her purpose and plan with the writing she utilizes. There are moments of uncomfortability where the readers is challenged to assess their own selves to determine – what would you do?

Breathing Hope is a short piece of work (approximately 10 chapters) that also deals with the aftermath of that fateful birthday party. I made this recommendation, because I do believe if you like the darker side of vampire’s decisions, you will enjoy this one. It is also my hope that you will go over and give her WIPs a look at the same time. Tell her I sent you.

What should a reader expect in Breathing Hope? A very broken Carlisle and a self-destructive Bella. This fic deals with alcoholism and rage, so if these are trigger points for you, don’t venture forward. Carlisle has become a shell of the vampire I grew to love. Letting Bella go, as she requested, has led him to a very dark and dismal place. Although the family is still together, Rosalie has become his sole source of comfort in the darkness in which he exists. He is lost and desires to be destroyed.

Bella, without revealing too much, has lived with the consequences of what she thought was a “good decision” for five years, quickly spiraling down into the world of alcoholism.

What I adore about this story is that we see just what could happen when a vampire and “human that should be a vampire” lose their mate. I missed that in the canon stories. I wanted to feel the pain in a way other than the infamous fade to black and listing of months. I get that in this story - the rage, the pain, the heartbreak, and the consequences of stupid, stupid decisions. What I also appreciated was that Bella grew up a little and realizes the pain that veggie vamps face every day in their chosen existence. I’ll allow you to read how she honors that for yourself. Fairly poetic IMO.

NO great f’ing scenes in this fic. If you are looking for that between Carlisle and Bella, go to Feral Blood. The Joker’s Daughter was nominated for a Golden Lemon for it, but I think if you are looking for a short disturbing read, you will enjoy Breathing Hope.

You know, sometimes in our search for the dark, we set out to look for a certain dark character. We crave the ruthlessness of Dark Jasper, or the incredibly twisted mind of a Dark Edward. Even the thrill of seeing a psychopathic Bella. We love these dark characters who mess with our minds and shiver in fear, but sometimes, you find a dark character who isn't really that dark at all. Or at least they don't mean to be. 

Not from the stand point of being a serial killer who hears voices that make them do it, or even someone who is full of anger they don't know how to control it, but because life has dealt them one fucked up hand and they have no choice but to be the way they are. A defense against what fate has thrown in their tangled web of life. 

This is what we get with the story I am delivering to you all today. 

Just Wait

AH AU OOC In a world saturated by vices, Bella is forced to move in with her father to avoid the repercussions of her past deeds. But after she meets the socially withdrawn adopted son of the town's doctor, will she allow herself to open up and heal?

I honestly don't remember where this fic came from. I get a lot of rec's thrown my way, and I mean a LOT. I even have a bookmark folder where I keep them all until I can find the time to make it through them. It's a scary long list, but I do search through it regularly when I just want to sit down and read and get away from the many responsibilities I have in the fandom.  

So when I found this on my bookmarks bar, instead of in the bookmarks folder where I normally keep it, I had to wonder where it came from. I am positive it must have come to me as a rec from someone. I don't remember who it was that sent it to me but I want to say thank you. 

I have engrossed myself in this fic for the last week when I got a chance. This is one of those fics where you go to bed thinking about it and wake up thinking about it. I just couldn't get it out my head when I wasn't glued to my laptop. I even had a dream about it one night that was so vivid, it sort of freaked me out. 

Now, what is this fic about that has seem to capture my full attention while finding time to read? Well, I'll tell you, but I warn you that it's not for the faint of heart. The author continually tells you at the beginning of every chapter that if you are sensitive to any and all forms of abuse, sexual or otherwise, then to stop reading. I ask that you do the same with this rec. The subject matter is very intense and dark. 

We start out with Bella being shipped off to live with her father in Forks after Renee calls him up and tells him that he either takes her or she goes to jail. Renee is tired of dealing with Bella and her wild ways, especially after her last stunt of stealing a car. Bella is wild and reckless, doing things that would land most normal seventeen year olds in jail, but not all is as it may seem. 

Once Bella arrives in Washington with a father she barely knows and appears to not really want her, things slowly start to become unraveled. Bella's life is full of secrets, and not the normal teenage secrets, but ones that involve a sadistic mother. 

She begins her new life on the same destructive path that she's used to. Drugs, sex, and rebellion. She then meets her new biology partner, Edward Cullen. She sees him and thinks he's hot, but everyone seems to treat him as an outcast, and not in the hot bad boy way. They make fun of him. She soon finds out why when she hears Edward speak for the first time. 


She then understands why he's picked on and made fun of. He's a social outcast, but Bella doesn't care. She's lived a life out trying to stay in the shadows so it doesn't bother her. Part of her "punishment" for being sent to live with her dad, is attending a mucked up therapy session with a group of troubled teens her age at Dr. Cullen's home every Friday. She soon finds herself being paired with Edward as her teen peer. 


This starts a journey for Bella and Edward together. They realize that the darkness that clouds their pasts are not so different. They've experienced more horror in their seventeen years than most people experience their whole lives. It brings them together in a way neither of them have ever imagined. 


This story is written from Bella's POV and Edward's POV. It switches every few chapters and gives us a glimpse into both of their minds, which is one of the things I love about this fic. It gives us so much into both of their dark pasts, and trust me when I say this review does not do it justice. It is dark and twisted. So much so that a lot of readers won't make it through it. 


It is heartbreaking to see how evil people of the world have messed their lives up so badly. Delving into their minds, you can see how they would be good kids if life had treated them somewhat fairly. If someone had just cared, but it didn't happen that way, and we see what damage evil people can do in the lives of young innocent children. 


I left out a lot of info because you really need to discover this for yourself. For something so dark, it's beautifully written. Karma Girl makes you feel their emotions in a vivid way. You can almost see the pain and raw emotion on their faces as she writes out these chapters, which are incredibly long. So worth the wait for her to write them. 


So this brings me back around to where I started. I chose to represent this as a Dark Bella fic, not so much because she is dark, but more that her life is clouded in darkness. So far Bella's life comes off as the more sinister and demented, compared to her and Edward, but that's because Edward hasn't disclosed much of his past to Bella yet. We get glimpses, enough to make you realize what happened, but nothing concrete. 


That is slowly changing now as she continues to update. Edward's dark past is starting to look more fucked up than Bella's and her's is pretty twisted. 


Please give this story a read if you haven't already done so. You dark lover's out there will definitely love this fic and please make sure to leave her some love.
